This is a menhir or fertility stone, which was Christianized and converted into a "step" in the dry processions that took place between the chapel of Nossa Senhora do Rosário and Aldeia do Mato (currently São Pedro do Corval). According to an archaic tradition, which still exists today, single girls, fulfilling a pagan fertility rite, go there on Easter Monday to throw a stone at the menhir and consult it about their marriage. Each failed throw represents a year of waiting.

The Évora karting track was opened in November 1987. Today it has a track that combines technical layout with speed, with a perimeter of 908 metres and a constant width of seven metres, and offers a rental fleet of over 70 karts, a panoramic grandstand, workshop, changing rooms, restaurant and reception. The karting track also offers medieval games such as archery, crossbow pistol shooting and blowgun shooting.

Located in the parish of S. Bento do Mato, 19 km from the city of Évora, Azaruja is a pleasant village, with particular charms due to both its simplicity and the friendliness of its people. In the 19th century, it became the main cork center in the Alentejo due to the settlement of English and Catalans in the village of Azaruja. The presence of people of other nationalities influenced the way of life of the population, the customs and even the local cuisine.
